Capelet – Done!


This can also be worn with just the neck tied in center front.
Lessons: I wouldnt’ use Homespun for a garment again. It tends to stretch out of shape. But this keeps my shoulders nice and toasty warm while I hang around the house.

Pretty Lavender Hat

It’s been very cold, and I’m still short on hats. So I took an odd ball of TLC Lustre in Lavender and made this up. Kinda girly but cute, if I do say so myself.

Record Cold

Brrrr, it’s cold here! Record low temps. “42′ F. Feels like 37′” this afternoon. Ventured out in a coat and layers, but the icy winds cut through my jeans. So, I’m working on another brimmed beret based on this pattern, this time in Patons Classic Merino in white/cream.

Last Hurrah Poncho/Capelet

After a discussion at Craftster on whether ponchos are now hopelessly out, I started a crochetalong. Then I had a terrible time choosing pattern and yarn. Lion Brand Homespun turned out too thick and unwieldy. Funny, it worked so nicely on Knifty Knitter… Then my stash yarns didn’t seem to be the right color or texture.

This is Red Crochet’s new home as of today. Until I figure out blog transfer logistics, the work to date remains at redcrochet.blogspot.com.

Here, I hope, I will be able to set up a photo gallery of finsihed objects (FOs) and works in progress (WIPs), and share original patterns more readily.
